The idea of Clara’s Hope came about in 2013 after founders, Dave and Tami Kromer, adopted their youngest daughter, Clara.  As foster parents for over ten years, the Kromers strongly believe that no parent should have to do foster care alone.  Two of their children were adopted through foster care with very little support.  After adopting Clara, who was born with a terminal condition, their church and community rallied around the family with much support.  The Kromers realized this is what adoption and foster care should look like and envisioned starting an organization that could provide such support to families in Genesee and Livingston Counties. Clara’s Hope began is a sub-ministry of Freedom Center Church in Fenton.

Their Vision Moving Forward

Clara’s Hope aspires to help families have success in foster care and adoption.  Supports offered are geared toward moving families from simply surviving to thriving.

Romans 15:13
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

MEET TAMI

Tami Kromer – Founder and Director

I’ve been a foster parent for more than a decade with over 30 children in foster care living in our home throughout that time. I’m the mother of 6 forever kids (3 biological, 3 adopted).  Clara is my daughter and the catalyst for this organization. I have a passion to see the entire family learn to heal and work toward wholeness.
